heres my story... im america. my boyfriend is australian. we met over a year ago on vacation and have, over the past year, travelled to different parts of the world, including australia, just to spend time with each other. we have reached the point where we want to live together and try out real life, not this vacation life. im 29. i looked into the 462 work holiday visa thinking thats my best bet, but im unsure. i realize i have until 30 to apply for this visa. can i apply for this visa with only a high school diploma, no college at all? once i apply for this visa and it goes through, im still ok with getting other visas after, right? or can anyone suggest a visa they feel would suit me better, if there is even one? all we want to do is live together, concentrate on us and i want to work in australia while im there. after my visa is up, we are hoping to get him some type of visa to live and work with me in america for a little while so we can decide what location suits us best. does anyone know about those working visas for america too. im sure its hard to get one. thanks in advance for helping me out. im stressing out over this.

The 462 is probably the best initially for you and as long as you graduated from HS that would mean you're eligible from the qualification aspect - Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462)
There are restrictions on what further skilled visas you could apply for and there is the possibility of getting a No Further Stay condition applied - Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462)
But if you do not get one of those and want to give yourself some future flexibility, you could always arrange to meet up for a few weeks just prior to your entry and then near the end of your WHV you could apply for a partner visa.
Even with a NFS condition, you could always with 12 months together put a partner visa application in offshore and they're cheaper.
There is also a relationship registration process you can do in ACT, NSW, Tasmania and Victoria in Australia, detailsd via Births, Deaths, and Marriages registries and that will actually waive the full 12 months requirement.
Have a look at the sticky thread by elkitten re getting organised to collate data to support an application.
An Aussie getting a WHV equivalent for the US and I think they may have called it something different for people with I recall possibly even higher qualifications was part of the dealing that was done when the US WHV for here came in a just a few years ago and the Aussie needs to have a look at the US Immigration site.

a no further stay condition would that mean that im never allowed back in australia? im a bit confused. if i apply for WHV and your saying near the end of the 12 months apply for partner visa thats an option but if i dont do that and i let me whv run out what happens? i really appreciate your help !!!

The No Further Stay condition when applied is just saying you are not eligible to apply for another visa from within Australia but it does not mean you can never return.
If at the end of your WHV you have not applied for a partner visa or any other that you may be eligible for and there are restrictions re skilled visas even without a NFS, you have to leave prior to it expiring.
