Hi All ,

I am currently in Australia with temporary short stay specialist with Visa subclass 400. I have applied for 3 months which was granted.

I wanted to extend further , can you please let me know how to extend my visa without going back. I was told to reapply for Visa 400 I need to go back and do a fresh apply.

Out of curiosity how long did your 400 take to get approved?

Please look at your visa information, to see what conditions are applicable. The immigration website
https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa-1/400-

says "If you have a 'No further stay' condition on your visa, you cannot apply for a different type of visa while you are in Australia, except in extremely limited circumstances. You must leave Australia no later than the date on which your visa ends."

As the previous poster pointed out, it depends on the conditions that came with your visa.

All this information should be on your visas grant letter. Did you read it ? Does anybody read their visa grant letters ?

Keep a copy of this letter and the visa grant notice in a safe place for your reference.Your visa grant notice contains useful information....
