Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum so pardon my ignorance if some of the questions I will be asking were already addressed before.
My family resides in Perth and my husband and I are planning to visit them this winter (summer here in the US). I have looked over the Official AU Immigration site and found out that my husband qualifies for the Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) since he is a U.S. citizen.
We are trying to do it the best (and possibly fastest way) and we chanced upon an agency called VisaFirst. I am cautious in dealing with agencies, so I wanted to find out if anyone here has used their service. They advertise that they can process within 48 hours for express and 2 weeks for a regular service. So my question is, would you recommend VisaFirst? If not, are there other agencies that could possibly provide a better service?
Our other concern is my visa. I hold a temporary resident visa (subclass 457) and used to live and work in Australia before I moved here in the U.S. My 457 visa states that I can do multiple travel and that it is valid 'til 26-Oct 2010. However, my family just had their PR approved last month and I was not a dependent in their application. I would assume that my 457 visa is now considered void but I wanted to confirm this before I go and apply for a family-sponsored tourist visa (subclass 679). I am not a U.S. citizen yet -- I got married just last year and I have not made any changes to my passport or name.
Any insight and/or advice would be very much appreciated!
