Hello,

Has anyone applied for a visitor visa while waiting for the partner visa (offsore) to be fianalised? If so, could you please inform what happened. i.e. was the visitor visa refused /granted? did it affect your partner visa? did it postpone the waiting?

Yes many have - all of your above except affect your Partner Visa.
Did you apply? By saying many have its very vague. I dont want to put ourself at risk. If you applied for the visitor visa when was your partner visa finalised. that stage is important too. I hope you understand why ım askıng.

Our Partner Visa was a PMV.

Yes we did apply for the three members after the PMV application for Visitor Visas.

Important to note we had 2 rounds of Visitor Visas refused before that and had to leave a child behind to allow two persons to have Visitor Visas approved prior.

After the PMV application (a few months and after medicals) we applied for for all 3 to have a multi entry 6 month Visitor Visa. All three were granted 12 month Visitor Visa and could if wished reenter Australia on that visa (no stay period). That was a process time of a few weeks from memory.

The requirement to go offshore for the decisions was made within process time and well before the Visitor Visas were to expire - we went offshore and it was granted.

I know many people who have applied after a Partner Visa application - they all turn out different. Some get granted, some not, some have 3 month stay, some get a early 309 grant.

So in reply to your original has "anyone applied" my answer was many all with different results.

We’re in exactly the same position and are wondering what’s the best visitor visa to apply for. I submitted my 309 application on the 28th October and my husband submitted his sponsor application on the weekend. We want to go out to Australia at the end of December (at the earliest, but possibly a bit later). I’m thinking a 12 month 600 visa is my best option but am worried they won’t grant it. Of course there’s always the possibility of an early partner visa grant in which case 12 months won’t be needed. The uncertainty is very frustrating!

Hello you've application is pretty new but what I've noticed from these forums are that applications from UK have been processed within 2-3 months.. I have even seen 1 month. We've been waiting since Jan 18. Its hard to determine whether to apply for the visitor visa and head off so we cant start our new life. look for a job etc. :/ very frustrating indeed.

I came over on an ETA after applying. They asked me to leave when they were ready to finalize it. Grant in 3 1/2 months and same day I flew out of the country.
Hmm do you think it was worth applying for the visitor visa and then heading out of the country within such sort time for the other visa to be finalised?

That was a short trend and a lot to do with planning levels - not the UK being fast in general.

P.S about zero applications are processed in that time frame unless the risk of a front load was made, many do not risk that money.

I expect our Visitor Visas were granted due that the Embassy knew me very well and every Local, State and Federal minister and member in the area I lived. Even John Laws was involved.

Don't think I understand your question.

I applied for the offshore partner visa. Two months later, I flew to Oz on an ETA sc 601. The following month they tried to tell me the partner visa was ready for finalization and I needed to go offshore, but the email never made it to me or my partner because they used ".cm" instead of ".com" in our email addresses. So about a month after that and because we hadn't responded, a different CO forwarded us that original email asking for a response. We got that one, so we responded with our itinerary and flew out the following week. The grant came the day I left.

So want to correct myself... grant wasn't in 3.5 months, it was in 4.5 months. It would have been 3.5 months if the original email asking me to leave for finalization had been sent to the correct email address. (Meant to say the grant was ready in 3.5 months.)
