Hi all, I was hoping someone could tell me what happens after you submit, and what to look out for to know your case is progressing... ie. change is statuses, emails, triggers etc... any info appreciated! It's been a nightmare getting my application ready to submit, and it is finally being submitted by my RMA next week. I'm now eager to know what to look out for! (front loaded) x

1) It would be helpful if you disclosed which visa you have applied for.
2) You have a RMA. Didn’t they explain the process to you? If not, why not ask them?
3) Normally all communication would go via the RMA and they would update you.

Triggers, updates, emails? It’s not anything exciting like that. Your application wiill just sit in a queue until someone picks it up. At most there will be a request for further information and, eventually a decision letter. You won’t get daily progress reports. The only status changes in an online application I’m aware of are pretty meaningless: “received”, “processing” and “ finalised”. There is no progress bar like you get with a software download...

Thanks for reply, i'm applying for sc309 partner visa from the UK. Yes, I can ask my RMA, but I just thought people on here were in the same boat and would understand my nerves/excitement tbh.
I totally understand. I deal with it all the time. That's why I provide my clients with a factsheet explaining the process. Unfortunately nothing much will happen for a long time. It will be quite a frustrating experience . I'm sure there are plenty others here who can share their personal experiences with you. I just thought you should have a realistic understanding of the sort of "progress" you should be expecting.

As CCMS said, there's no progress bar. Especially if you've frontloaded your application and covered all the required evidence. The status will probably stay at Received until the day it's granted in which case it'll change to Finalised. At least that is what happened with my husband's 309 (applied through London - checked it every day, it never changed from Received until it was granted).

And like already mentioned, you won't get to see any of that anyway. Probably best not to let the excitement or impatience get to you along the way and bother the RMA asking if anything has changed or updated. S/he will certainly notify you when they need to.
