Hello,

Im hoping someone can advise me what the best visa to apply for would be.
I've lived in Australia since 2016 and been a permanent resident since August 2017. I'm married to an Australian.
Me and my wife are moving back to the UK for a few years but would ultimately want to return to Australia permanently.
What are the options in terms of permanent visas? Should I wait until I return and reapply for permanent residence and citizenship, this seems to be a cheaper option than a spouse visa but could take longer. Are there better options? Thanks

With a PR visa, you can come and go as you please for 5 years.

Hi thanks for that. I should've been clearer. There's a good chance I'll return more than 5 years after I got permanent residency. I will have lived in Australia with permanent residency for 18 months by the time I leave.

If nothing changes between now and then, you may be able to get a RRV based on having strong ties since you're married to an Australian citizen.
