Hey Guys, new to the board so sorry if this is in the wrong section. A bit of background information for you guys, I am Male and 19 years old from England. I am on a WHV and came to Australia April of this year, i am currently living with my boyfriend who i met in June and his mother but have known him since January of this year over the internet. i am looking to get my second year visa and currently have no seasonal work done yet.

I have been on the IMMI website so have all the information in hand with the Requirement for the 3 months seasonal work needed to get the second year visa. Its just it isn't very specific on how you can do it. I am on a website called HelpX and i know there are a few people on there offering work that does qualify on the list of jobs that qualify but these places are large homes and not businesses. They all fit into the postcodes that qualify as well. Everything would be legit, i would do the work for these people, but it will be independent homes and not a business. As well, these places will be work for accomodation so i would not get paid for the work so would have no proof. Is everything OK as long as they sign the Employment Form needed for the Visa?

Many Thanks!!!

Specified work can be the Help Exchange work for accommodation and food in Australia New Zealand Canada Europe not wwoof style of working for accommodation/meals and in fact WWOOF Australia is given a mention on Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417)

At the same time the nature of the work needs to fall within the description of specified work as listed.

Coming into spring/summer there should be a lot more paid work around in fruit/vegetables area and have a look at the harvest trail info, a link on Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417)

Thanks a lot for the quick reply. So as long as the work i am doing for these people fall into the catagory in the list and the person signs the Employment Sheet for me, then everythings good?

Another question, could someone explain the process for the Second WHV, like what happens and such?

Thanks

The employment record form does have provision for an ABN number but HelpX, Wwoof or just hobby farms where you may volunteer will not have that unless they have a registered business which the form has been more designed for.

But if they just otherwise fill in details of name/dates/type of work and put in brackets Hx, Wf [unabbreviated of course] or just Volunteer work or whatever it should be fine.

And you can either apply in Australia for a follow on from your existing visa or take a break to travel and in that case you would have to apply from outside of Australia.
