Submitted 820 application...

...and after reading some of the threads on here I don't think it'll be approved, we haven't been marriied very long and don't have lots of evidence that's required. It's really put me on a downer when I'm sposed to be happy
Has anyone got any tips on other evidence I could submit before I give up completely?

What evidence did you supply? People can then comment on what else you can add if it's not listed? You might also then find that you have plenty of evidence

Well we have a joint account but it's only 2 months old, we have statements from my bank transferring my savings to her account and we can also show we have bought groceries etc from our joint account. We don't pay any bills or pay rent etc as we live with her rellies, we have a few receipts inc honeymoon and gifts, aeroplane tickets, photos with her family together, statements from friends/ family, cards and letters sent to each other when we were apart, skype/Facebook messenger stuff and that's about it

Please update your flag here .

Don't get stressed out before you know the outcome for certain... And the chances are that nothing will be done for months and months.
My fiancÚ and i have been together 2.5 years, we have been living together for 2 and have LOADS of evidence and it's still taking over 6 months. Did you use and agent to apply or do it by yourself as that makes a big difference too...

How long have you been living together exactly? Hopefully for more than 2 months?

Before you opened your bank account 2 month ago how did you share your finances? You mention you have statements from your bank account to her account - how often did you transfer money to each others accounts? How did you pay for groceries? nights out? etc prior to having the joint account?

My partner and i lived with my parents for a year prior to applying for the 820 partner visa. Have you had your partners relatives write a statement attesting to this? Including things like that you both stay in the same room, that you have your own bathroom (if applicable), that you both cook meals, that you both do your own washing etc? Even though you live with family you should still be able to show you have your own household as such. My parents also explained that they were allowing us to live there so that we could continue to save for a deposit on a house.

There are LOADS of posts on this forum that detail all the evidence that people have supplied with their application, I would use the search bar at the top right to look for these to give you some ideas on what to include. But off the top of my head below are things you could include:

1. Joint car insurance
2. Joint health insurance
3. Joint ambulance cover (depending on where you live)
4. Wills - cheap and easy to construct and make fantastic evidence
5. Having each other listed as beneficiaries on your superannuation
6. Proof that you are listed as each others next of kin at your place of employment, doctor or school (in case either of you are at uni).
7. Details from ATO to show you listed as being a couple
8. Details from Centrelink to show you listed as a couple
9. Joint memberships you have - flybuys etc
10. Joint phone bills
11. Joint purchases - have you bought anything for your room?

There will be a lot more that you can add, this is just what I can think of off the top of my head.

As you are married it waives the 12 month requirement but I would still suggest having at least 6 months of solid financial, social, nature of household and nature of commitment evidence. At the moment, if what you listed in your post is what you have uploaded I would say you need to upload more evidence to show nature of commitment and joint finances.

How many form 888's do you have?If you are lacking in evidence in categories it's long been advised by migration agents to upload more statements as this can help to a certain degree.

What you want to avoid is a visa refusal. Once you have a visa refused it's an entirely different ball game and things just get more difficult for you. So I would disagree with the post above mine about not stressing until you know the outcome because by then it will be too late.

How much time would be ideal to submit ALL your evidence? I just applied for my 820 and have the identity stuff uploaded but the 888s, passport and other evidence is still being organized.

Is that without them contacting you and giving you 28 days to upload documents?

Are IMMI still not required to contact you and give you that time, or has that changed? E.g they can make a decision on your visa based on the evidence you have uploaded without having to contact you and request that you upload more documents.
