I was always of the understanding that if you do not have a valid visa at any time in the 4 years prior then the clock is reset.

I applied and got approved for citizenship in November. I think the time u spent outside without an Aussie visa within four years is fine as long as the total absence doesn't exceed 12 months. I have been living here for eight years. In the four year period of time, there was half a year I spent outside aus as my student visa ended and I came back on a tourist visa, applied for partner visa, got on BVA and so on. No issue for me when I applied for citizenship.

Thanks for the replies. That gave me more inside. I'll call IMMI just to make sure but I think that those 4 days should change anything. Thanks all again
