However if you no longer want to grope your way through the process, and if you have extra funds to spare, then by all means, find a good agent. Mark Northam is a member of this forum who has been generously sharing expert advice. Mark has reasonable fees for a PMV300 lodgement. (Note: I do not personally know Mark and neither does Mark know me.)

Good luck!

Hi guys, thanks for your responses. My query was posted in July 2011 and my partner, now wife, has now been in Australia for almost one year.
We did not use an agent and it took four months to get the visa but could have been shorter if we some paperwork my wife needed had been available earlier. We have since applied for and have been granted a Partner Visa (820) in just 18 days from submission. The secret is to get all the documents together and clearly mark them for easy processing. It can be difficult at times but this forum was a great help to us as were calls to immigration in Australia and, as has been suggested by Nina, reading the support literature thoroughly before you start.

cheers and good luck to you all
Peter
