stupid question?

Hey guys, this may seem like a simple question, but does immigration consider a month to be 4 weeks, or from e.g. 4th Jan - 4th Feb? Just wondering because some people say they got their visa at 9 months (e.g applied 7th April 2014, got defacto visa granted 7th Jan 2015, which would be over 36 weeks). Cheers x

Most visas I have seen are Day of Month- So a 2 month visa issued Dec 31 would expire Feb 28/9, as for internal processing times I think they can pick whatever suits.
