Yeah, I was just replying to crolladx, who said he applied for an 820 - so you shouldn't need to pay to have something certified given the application was made in Australia and there is large number of people that can certify for free.

Not that it matters because in the end he was referring to photocopying and not having a document certified

So sorry to hear this! Where did you apply from? What is the proof of support they are asking for? There isn't supposed to be required proof of financial support any more.

It would be worth investing a little money in having a migration agent review your case to see if there's anything that can be done to vacate the decision. I'd recommend sending WRussell an email to arrange a consultation.

Hi willsace so sorry to hear your application was rejected as other have said you have 28 days to ask for your decision to be reviewed. It is usually good to get an agent advice before hand.

I was wondering exactly the same thing! Assurance of suuport got removed years ago so not sure why a case officer would reject based on this as it would be an easy win a MRT.

What country is the applicant from and where did u apply? Sometimes a case officer will deny a visa cause of their own racist beliefs (if ur white from a low risk country this is probably not the case). If u have time read my old posts - our pmv also denied - but we hung in there did mrt and 2nd pmv simultaneously.

NowdAys due to huge price increase in visas definately cheaper to go to mrt, if u can bear the wait.

Chicken, exactly. I will do both regardless if ours is refused and then some. When someone actually nails this in a High Court and damages are awarded things may just change - but it can only be civil against a CO until a certain point, that being "often over looked and accepted by the employee" our own IMMI department. With MRT rates as they are I would be nervous if it were my job!

Absolutely ! Only thing I can say that when the visa was finally approved (18 long months after refusal ) it was infinitely sweeter and absolutely the best day of our lives, even surpassing the day he got here. And well worth the wait too.
