Is my partner staying w/me on 12mth tourist visa enough to start the Spouse Visa app?

Hi All,

Thank you for your time, i am so grateful to have found such a site!

Over the last 18 months, me and my German girlfriend have been travelling back and forth every 6-8 months or so to see each other. For career reasons it has been difficult for either of us to spend longer than a month together. Its been the most difficult relationship either of us have been in for obvious reasons. It has gotten to the point where we just can't keep going on like this and we need to have a proper go at it, one of us has to move.

She is 31 and is no longer able to apply for a working visa. We have decided that it is best that she comes to Australia and that we want to work towards applying for a spouse visa.

Financially we are fine to live off my income/savings and her savings for a year.

So the question is, if she lives with me for 12months whilst on a 12 month tourist visa, as well as heading back to Germany for month long work projects then returning, can we build a strong enough case to apply for the spouse visa? My concearns being able to prove at the end of the 12 months that we have been living together and sharing costs.

Many thanks in advance.
