Other expenses for 309/100 visa

Are there any other expenses for the 309/100 visa other than the application fee? If so how much more money are you looking at on average?

you will also have to pay for
- medicals - depends on the country you are applying from
- some police checks involve a fee
- translation of documents that aren't in english - again it depends on how many documents need translation and what the rates are in your country of application.

sorry I can't be more help

No, we only had to pay the application fee and the police checks and medicals.

However the visa gets issued as an email attachment and we heard that some employers insist on an actual visa label - which costs about $100 (note that we didn't have any personal experience of this yet, we've only heard other people's stories).

One think

Never ever heard of this. Employers have access to VEVO so they should do a work entitlement check via VEVO.

When my husband applied for his job they asked for a job of his bio page from his passport so that they could check his work entitlements.

That's great to hear, thanks Mish! Between the visa, flights and shipping to Sydney, this move back to Australia is costing us a small fortune. I didn't know that employers had access to VEVO so that's very useful information!

There is always this ad I hear on the radio telling employers to check work entitlements.

Not all employers check work entitlements though. The first job my husband had they didn't check his work entitlements. The second one did but they are a world wide company so that is probably the difference.

Btw ... I have been told that it is very hard to find a job in Sydney at the moment. Good luck and I hope you are a lucky one that gets a job fast
