820 de fac to visa

Hi guys,
I am not sure if i did the wrong thing at the first place. Me and my partner joint saving account since October 2014 (we didn't withdrawal any money from it since we really don't want use money. We want to save it for visa fee. )
We applied everyday joint account in this month January 2015.
Anyway, we start to use everyday joint account from now on.

Second, I going to do my tax return with my partner this year.
We have his parent statement since we are living in their house because no water or electricity bill under our name.
We have 4 x form 888
We have 20 x photo.
Correspondence while apart ( phone calls)
Birthday party invites

We are going to apply defacto visa in October 2015.
As your opinion, do you think this is enough evidence for defato visa? Or What else do we need?

Also, I've seen some people said they had medical examination before they submit defacto visa. I wondering should I get the medical before apply or after.
Please, really need help.

Hi Emma

Welcome to the forum! It looks like you need to do a LOT more research before submitting your application as you definitely don't all the evidence you need.

Start by looking at the requirements for partner visas on the Immi website here:

And also read this post on this forum - although it's an old post so the person did a paper application, not an online one - the information is still relevant:

Good luck!

You are on the right track, and you have plenty of time to gather the additional evidence that you need.

You need to have 12 months of defacto evidence - so hopefully you began living together from October 2014 or earlier (otherwise you will need to get married or register your relationship in an eligible state).

Keep in mind that you need to cover all 4 evidence categories (evidence needs to span the entire duration of your defacto relationship) and convince the CO that your relationship is genuine and continuing.

The four relationship categories are:
  • Proof you have joint finances
  • Social evidence
  • Nature of household
  • Nature of commitment to each other

You seem to need a lot more evidence in all of the categories, except perhaps the financial side as you have a joint savings account and joint everyday account spanning the 12 months by the time you apply.

Here is another good sticky post to read by CG. She provides some helpful links to other ideas for evidence on there.

October is a long way away so I wouldn't worry about you medical yet as who knows what the visa process will be like in October. If the waiting time blows out anymore I would be waiting to submit your medical checks.

Visa: 820/801 Partner (Defacto) from WHV
Nationality: British
Applied: Online, Onshore (Melbourne)
Application Date: 5th February 2014
Police Checks: 5th February 2014
Medicals: 5th February 2014
GRANT DATE: 4th June 2014

Thanks a lot.
So my financial evidence is enough is that correct?

Then rest of them i will do my best to collect.
Anyway, I was living with my partner since February 2014. And I have payslip and tax return letter to prove we were living together before October 2014.
Wish me good luck.
