Hey again - you're confused. When you apply for the 820, if your medical is more than a year old at the time the visa is ready to be granted, THEN they CAN ask you to redo it (though they frequently don't - they have the power to extend their validity for a few months under certain circumstances). Once you have been GRANTED the 820, there are no more medicals to worry about. I've never seen someone asked for a new medical for the 801- not even people who had referred medicals for the 820 because they had a health issue.

Hi there. I am new in this. Hope everyone could help me out. I am now due for supplying documents for second stage of visa 801 and i am stuck in the category of nature of finance. My question is how long joint bank account to be considered as a reasonable period of time? When I applied for visa820 I didn't have a joint bank account but got the visa granted. And now I am thinking of open a joint bank account just before lodging visa801 application. Not sure if it is neccessary to open it????? Any reply would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's not a requirement or necessary to have a joint bank account.

You just need to show combined finances since being granted your 820. This can be by showing seperate accounts but highlighting joint purchases such as groceries, rent, mortgage, bills, insurance, holidays, money transfers to each other's accounts etc.

If your about to apply for your 801 there will be little point in getting a joint account unless you actually want one.

Don't open a joint bank account just for the 801. It's not going to count for anything anyway as you'd need to show at least a few months of regular use in order for it to really be useful as evidence.

You need to show evidence of joint finances from the time your 820 was granted until now. How have you and your partner shared finances? Do you each have access to the other's account? Are you authorized users on each each other's credit cards? Are you each other's super beneficiaries? Do you transfer money between your accounts to each other for bills, etc.? You need to paint a clear picture of how you share funds. If each of you uses your own account to make purchases for the household, go through your bank statements and highlight purchases for the benefit of both of you - rent payment, grocery shops, etc. etc.

Hi again. I have read some posts here and learnt that when you are eligible to apply for visa 801 you will receive an email from immi asking you to provide some documents for the second stage. However, in my case, I already checked on the immi website and found out that I am due for visa801 application, and been getting all required documents done and ready for submitting. I haven't received any email from immi yet and still waiting for the email.
Should I ring them and ask or I just submit documents without their email?
Any reply would be much appreciated. I am really worried why they haven't sent me a notification email.
:-(

No need to wait for the email. You can go ahead and do your application. The email could have gone to your spam filter. I wouldn't worry.

Thanks a lot. I did check spam folder. Anyway, will listen to you and go ahead. You've eased my worry. Very stressfull and time-consuming to do this sort of tasks.

It is! But eventually you'll be done and there will be nothing left to do but wait for your PR!
