eVisitor application

Hi All,

I'm a new member and just wondered if anyone has info or experience of the new online eVisitor application service?

Basically, the missus has booked myself and her a dream holiday to Australia as a present for my 30th.

We both applied for an eVisitor visa via the .immi.gov.au website on 02/08/11. My girlfriend received her approval the same day whereas I didn't hear anything until 12/08/11 at which point further information was requested. They wanted to know all my travel dates and destinations since 01/01/2007, which I sent back to them the same day. I then receive a confirmation email to say the information has been received on 14/08/11.

I understand there is a certain processing time for these applications which I accept but it's 16 days later and I haven't heard a peep.

I contacted the Australian Embassy in London last week and the guy I spoke to agreed that it seemed like and odd situation. He emailed the Hobart Global Processing Centre in Tasmania with my contact details and departure date and advised me I should hopefully receive a response early this week....which I haven't.

As we're flying out (or supposed to be!) on 17/09/11...I'm obviously starting to worry quite a bit.

Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear about this I don't think it's because of a problem with the electronic system, but I don't know why they want to know more about you....I'm sure you haven't done anything...
I don't think there's much you can do expect to express the urgency of your travel, and provide them with a copy of the tickets to show that you really are going to be leaving soon
I'm not sure....
