Well, I sent in our packet today to Berlin, and I decided after all to only send in 1 photo of each of us, as it says on their website. They must have put those instructions there for a reason, and if they want more pictures, they can ask me We'll see if I regret it or not, lol

I am back with another silly question about passport photos. Should you cut them out into individual photos or send them as a sheet of photos? STILL haven't sent application in and am leaving for Australia in 3 weeks! Do you think it will be problematic that we will be apart while the visa is being processed? We will submit it before I leave. I have no other choice but to return as my German visa expires soon (and I've run out of funds).

Once again this opposes what immi says but I might follow it as the stat decs only have a 6 week validity period now (or so I've read). Having two different checklists makes it very confusing as the one I had been using from immi was for offshore applications yet it's still different to the Berlin one.
Slightly off-topic, but what's this about stat decs only being valid 6 weeks? Is this only in Berlin or everywhere? I've read people submitting stat decs up to 3 months old and surely immigration should be lenient since we need to source them from people in Australia and that takes time. I'm in Turkey and the postal system here is so bad that most of our stat decs took more than 6 weeks to arrive. Are they still valid?

Hi Tashla,

I think it's fine for most places but for some reason the Berlin Office specifically requests that you do not provide stat decs until asked to do so but it doesn't say why they don't want you to. I read somewhere that they're now only valid for 6 weeks, which, if true, is kind of crazy.
