Average wait for a Case Officer to be assigned?

Hello!

Just wondering how long people have waited on average before a case officer is assigned?

We submitted offshore online for a Partner Visa (it will be 3 weeks ago next week). Payment went through straight away. All our documents are uploaded now. Shows as "in Progress" on immi, but have yet to hear from them.

Any experiences are welcome.

Thank you!!!

Chances are you won't hear from anyone until the visa is granted or if they need something. They don't send out emails to tell you a case officer is assigned. A lot of embassy's these days also work on teams and not one single case officer deals with your application.

Ah I see... Well I expect they will contact us for the Health and Police checks as they are the only things we have not submitted.

Thank you!

When things happen varies from embassy to embassy. There's a London thread on this forum that would be helpful to you if you applied through London (guessing you did based on your flag). London actually does generally send an email soon after applying (I'm not sure how soon) to let you know what timeframe you should use for getting your health checks and police checks done. They're very specific about wanting you to wait until the timeframes they've proscribed.

We submitted our 309 offshore on Oct 24 '14 and have not heard anything - just have to trust it's moving along in the queue. Then I hear of people getting their visas granted after 5 or 6 months. I hope to be hearing from a CO soon. Having this forum has been good.
All the best

Well it seems the universe is listening.

Jeremy received an email today from a case officer at the London Embassy.

They are happy with all our relationship documents and don't need to submit anything else apart from health and police checks. Because of lengthy processing times they have asked that we wait until July to get them done.

Our plan was always end of 2015 or beginning 2016 for the move so I think that timeframe is realistic.

Does anyone know if I as sponsor need police checks? It says on the immi account that I don't need health but couldn't quite establish if police checks were necessary.

Ours was submitted online on Jan 28th so hopefully you'll get a response soon too mate.

We were going to get the police and health done so the application was complete but two friends who did it last year from inside Australia said it just makes life easier waiting until later so you have a bigger window before your initial entry date.
