Does a marriage certificate waive the 12 months now? Back when we applied in 2012 we decided there was not point to us marrying as it wasn't going to "add" to our application

Cheers for the help peoples. I have decided seeing an immi specialist is the best way to procceed as our situation is not straight forward.

Yes. And it did back in 2012 as well. You only have to meet the 12 month requirement when you're applying as a de facto couple rather than spouses.

Being married, having your relationship registered with an Aussie state that allows it, and having a baby together (already born) are all things that waive the 12 month requirement.

Ah we must have decided that by the time we organised a wedding we would have reached a year of solid evidence (we applied at about 1yr 3 months) so not bothered. Still not married now haha! We r in wa so couldn't register the relationship.
