Hi! I have a Philippine passport, but currently live in the United States. I submitted my Visitor Visa application as well as uploaded my documents 4 weeks ago, have not heard back from IMMI any update, what should I do?

I plan to visit Sydney next week. I am really getting stressed by the wait.

Hi
That seems a long time, i just did an online application for a tourist visa for my Filipino brother in law and it took just over 1 week, however I did note that in another post on this site some Indian nationals applying from the USA were talking of 4 to 6 week wait.
When are you due to fly?

Thanks for the reply. You mean you applied from Australia for his visa, and he currently resides in the Philippines?
I guess, we have different pathways, I have been residing in the US, and they are asking me to contact and follow up with the America Contact Center and not the Manila office.

For now, it is still a waiting game. Is there a number for my Australian friend to call to facilitate the process on my behalf?

Yes i applied from Australia on his behalf BUT everything was in his name so they would not know it wasn't him applying.
I put myself as an extra contact so i got a copy of the emails etc.
Each Embassy looks after their own applications so you cant ask in Australia, also unless you put your friend as an additional contact the embassy wont discuss anything with them.
Did you apply for a straight visitors visa?

Ahhh so it must have been the Embassy in Manila that was quick and fast.
Yes I applied for a visitors visa subclass 600, paying $130 something. I'll continue to wait then.
Yeah $130 was correct, i hope you get your visa in time however I would check with the airline to find out what the latest date is you can alter your travel plans, it is best to be prepared in case the visa does not come through in time.
