Smile commercial cookery grad options

hello everyone! new to this forum just asking if any of the people in this forum have any advice for me. my sister is here in perth with a student visa for commercial cookery. food has always been her passion and it's time she did something about it. so basically the course is one year, and we want for her to stay here permanently. any ideas of what we can do? cheers!

She would have to look at finding an employer to sponsor her as a cook. There are a number of issues here. As she is from The Philippines it is likely that she would need to have her skills assessed to be eligible to apply for a temporary work visa (457).

If she were living in Perth or Adelaide she may be eligible to apply for a Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme Visa (RSMS - 187). In this case to be be deemed skilled she would need to have both a Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery OR a Certificate III and 2 years work experience as a Cook after Qualification.

If she were to continue on from Certificate III and Certificate IV to Diploma and Degree in Hospitality then she would be eligible to apply for a 485 (Temporary Graduate) visa.

I would suggest that you make an appointment with an experienced migration agent who can let you know what the current regulations are, and also see an education agent to map out appropriate courses.
