Sorry for the double post, just had another question - say if my wife wanted to travel back to Taiwan to visit family, how often can she do that? Is there a limit to how many days she can travel? And if she were to travel, would we have to notify Immigration and if so, where do we do that?

Still on a high from the grant. Been looking at plane tickets all night long!

While she's on the 309, she can come and go from Australia for holidays as much as she likes. No need to notify immigration. However, if she's going to be gone near her eligibility date for Permanent Residence (two years after she APPLIED for the 309), then you need to make sure they have current contact info for her so they can notify her when it's time to submit documents for that. Just make sure she's not gone out of Australia so much that it looks like she isn't living here, lol.

Sweet, thanks for the heads up! Yeah, it's a temporary partner visa. Definitely will keep bills, contracts, bank statements etc for the permanent visa. Cheers for the tips!!

Now to convince her to follow my footy team...
