Partner Visa Medical question

Hello Everyone,

would love to know would this little message under all the evidence heading to upload indicate us to start apply for it? or Does CO literally contact you by Email requesting for it? kinda confuse which one to follow at the moment. We only lodged our application last week online. coz it only has medical nothing about Police check so .....i assume its all Email based yeh and just ignore the message on the immi account?

the message we can see at this stage is here.

Meeting the health requirement
This person is required to complete health examinations for this visa application. Click on the link below to organise these health examinations.
Organise your health examinations.

Once this person's health examinations results have been assessed by the department this page will be updated to reflect this.

Note: If this person does not complete the required health examinations the visa application can be refused. If this page has not been updated and the person has completed their health electronically, it is advised they check that the clinic has submitted the results before contacting the department. For advice on how to do this see: Electronic health processing.

hope to hear from you all soon

Thanks in advance

I applied 820 in April 2014 with medical upfront ( in order to be able to complete the application). Maybe now it is different. Someone else who applied recently should be able to answer you better.

I hold 457 visa, onshore, from high risk country, and in a defacto relationship. Other people may have different scenario.

Yup, as far as I know that's the sign to get a Medical Check. Good luck - here's hoping your Visa comes soon!

I saw this message on my immiaccount page a few days after i applied but I didnt do my medicals until my Case officer actually emailed me. Since medicals are only good for a year, I didnt want to risk it . So I think u should wait till u get an actual email from the immi department.

Hope seniors can comment

regards ang good luck

oh okay thats strange i assume you did the paper application? coz what happen with us is when we applied online, also with tons of reading on this forum and consultation with mara agent, we were advise not to upload medical or police check until CO request it. consider the time frame now can be quite long and by the time CO is allocated, our police check or medical could be expire.

Yeah i thought that would be the case all email base then, just ignore that message then, coz we just dont want to risk it! if that message is actually their asking us to have the medical check done and we didnt receive any email since its only been a week how can it be that fast lol...and we ignore it and end up being deny i would be speechless.....

by the way, when a CO is allocated, do their actually email you about that as well? or how would you know when you have a CO allocated?

So far on the application status it state " In progress" and that little message about medical which bugs us lol

I applied online. Cant really remember anymore why. But I couldnt continute to the next page of the application. I think it was the HAP Id or something else. Anyway, you should wait if other people have experienced being able to do the test later. Probably after you passed your 6 months of waiting (assuming it will be assessed within the time frame of 12-15months)

Good luck to us all ^^

It might have to do with the speed of which you upload your evidence. Because my wife and I dragged our evidence uploads every 3-weeks or so, we got that notification 3 months after our initial application date.

In any case, we didn't have that message in our Immi.gov.au account until they posted it. We immediately went to the nearest Aus-approved hospital.

That link is typically always there from the time you apply. If it wasn't in chao's account, it was a glitch of some kind. The CO will email you when they need your medicals if you haven't completed them by the time they're ready to look at your application. Not everyone checks their ImmiAccount all the time after they apply - it would be dangerous to just have an easily-missed link show up that the applicant might or might not see.

haha Thank you so much CG! yeah we didnt realise it was there till last night and sawed it and go what? how can it be that fast? did we get asked now.... coz i always though their will request the police check and medical if we have not done them by Email for request. But thank you so much for this confusion part, guess theres isnt much to do now but sit and wait till around 4 - 5 months mark Hey CG! during the time we are waiting now, i have taken a read about the medicare stuff? does that mean, my wife can apply for it now? like would it have any negative impact on the visa result for applying for it? since she still have her private health fund covering her till end of this year so we kinda not rush in getting a medicare yet but if she can apply for it, we might well get them over done with first so thats one more thing off the list we can cross out

Yep, she sure can! Take her bridging visa A letter, her application acknowledgment, your marriage certificate and all the appropriate ID docs to medicare and they should allow her to get a card. If they don't, talk to a supervisor - and if that doesn't work, try a different medicare. She IS eligible - don't let them tell you differently.
