Notice of received application? - Berlin office

Hi all,

Me and my Australian partner have sent in our carefully assembled visa application (de-facto) to the Berlin office. Does anyone have experience with how long it can take before we hear anything at all? Can we expect a confirmation that they received the application?

Thanks!

In a week they received our applications too, you will be notified by mail and given a Visa file number, the Berlin office received our 309 visa application on the 23rd of May 2011 and the CO opened our file on the 19th of September 2011.
Wish you good luck
