Question Australian Study Requirement (points test)

Hello everyone!
I am an Overseas Occupational Therapist in a final semester at Curtin University doing a Degree Conversion course (2 semesters) as it was a requirement from OT board to enable me to work here as a qualified OT (because I am already an OT but in order to be qualified here I had to do this bridging course). I’ve got 7 overall (academic IELTS) but not in each band, then at least I have got 6 in each. Also have worked for a NGO as a personal support work for 2 years, and I believe it would be considered a closely related occupation. I have been looking and could not find any response as if my course (OT DEGREE CONVERSION COURSE) does meet the Australian study requirement (points test). I want to apply as a skilled OT once I got my Board letter saying I’m qualified here. Can anyone help me out?

Hi,

I am new in this thread. I just have positive assessment of my qualification and skills for 511112 Project or Programme Administrator. They said that my qualification and skills are suitable for applying immigration visa, although my qualification is not highly related to my nominated occupation. I completed a 2 years master degree, Master of Applied Commerce (Accounting), from the University of Melbourne. This is also not highly related to my nominated occupation but meets qualification requirement of 511112 Project or Programme Administrator.

My question is whether I will get 5 points for Australian study.

Thaysa,
Your IELTS result is band 6 which don't contribute any points but is minimal requirement for you to apply visa. You need your profession to be assess by australian board. Minimum study in australia 2 years enable you to gain points.

DTP,
I think you gain 5 points in australian study and another 5 points in qualification from aust.
