Is there any benefit of applying for PMV before the Partner visa?

As in, eventually we would have to apply for the Partner visa right? So I would still have to submit the same documentations for 820/801?

So if we apply directly for the 820/801, we would only do one application instead of two?

I am still confused over the process.

What is the best course of action?

Thanks.

You need alot evidence for a straight 820 vs a PMV and then PMV to 820.

Also you need to be married or living together for 12 months (unless relationship is registered with BDM).

They would be looking for things like supporting each other financially.

PMV is easier as the only requirement is that you have met in person and you will marry within 9 months of the grant.

The PMV to 820 requires less documents than a straight 820 as with the PMV you were already determined to be genuine so then they are only checking that you got married.

I am feeling daft, how do I contact you directly?

Thanks!

This whole immigration thing is giving me a terrible headache and will be costing heaps of money. As if maintaining a relationship is not difficult enough.

Is it possible to apply for these visas on our own? Or do people usually consult with an agent?

Who are the agents to consult if the case will be tricky in terms of having a dependent child which might or might not be given consent to migrate together?

How much would consulting agents cost?

If you feel this stressed about it already, it might definitely be a good idea to get a professional to handle it for you, especially if a dependent child is involved. With the high application costs, refusals are a costly affair.

A registered migration agent will provide you with a quote and a description first of the services included.

While this forum is great, it is no substitute for professional advice and continued professional assistance throughout the entire application process.
