Help

My future hubby is Australian. I have never lived in Australia and been on a long distance relationship with him for a very long time. I'm wondering how long will the process take for me to be legal to permanently live with him in Australia after we get married because we are not hoping to live apart longer especially after the wedding in my home town.

Hi,

Use this booklet as a guide for your future partner visa application:
http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1127.pdf

The time to process partner visas vary greatly from case to case, however in general, these are the standard times:
If you apply outside Australia:
Low risk country: 5 months
High risk country: 12 months
If you apply inside Australia:
Low risk country: 6 months
High risk country: 8 months
Client Service Charter

However, each application varies, and visas can be granted as quickly as 1 week and sometimes 12 months. There's no way of knowing.
