How long btw medicals and visa being granted?

Hi guys,

Can anyone please tell me how long we can expect to wait between medicals being recieved and visa being granted?

My husbands meds arrived in Berlin about a week ago. We are so anxious to know how much longer we can expect to wait. We would really like to be in Oz for Christmas but it all depends on when the visa is granted as to when my husband can give his work his notice (1 month). We have a 7 month old daughter and it will be her first Christmas this year so we want to make it special...so hard when you dont know whats happening.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi there... Processing time depends on the type of Visa you are applying for and also if its an onshore or offshore application.
I think I've gathered it's an offshore application? What type of Visa are you applying for... as in the defacto partner visa or prospective marriage visa... etc. ??

Hi OliviaG,
Sorry I had forgotten to include my details.
My husband applied for the permanent partner visa subclass 100, offshore, at the end of June this year. We have currently been waiting 4 1/2 months.
Berlins usual waiting period is around 5 months so I hope this means it wont be too much longer.
What I was intereseted in knowing is the time needed for the Embassy to process the medicals? And if they need to be sent to Aus for processing or are processed directly via the Embassy in Berlin?
Thanks

Hi Cenz... that's wonderful news. Congratulations!

Wonderful, so you will get to bring your daughter here for Christmas?

Pretty fast! I think from what I've gathered Berlin processes in reasonable time. There is a big variation in processing times accross all the different embassies and offices though, obviously as they have different volumes of applications. Also applications with children involved are fairly strong .... obviously as it's a high level of commitment to eachother.

Can I ask you to pop your application timeline on the 'stickied' thread called ': Visa time line - Family, spouse applications' ? It gives everyone a point of reference and guideline for how other people's applications went.

All the best to you.
