Health Waiver & 2nd Stage Partner Visa

Hi there,

I was asked to apply for a health waiver when I first applied for my partner visa. After I submitted the documents for my health waiver, I was granted my TR.

My question, if anyone knows, is if the health waiver applies only to the TR? I have just submitted my 2nd stage partner visa documents and it says that the department may require a health check (though the CO will advise). I.e. Have the health waiver already been applied (to both the TR and PR) and the main objective before granting the PR is to show we are a genuine couple.

Thank you.

Since no one answered this before, I assume no one (or not many) know the answer. In case anyone wishes to seek this information in the future – it appears the health waiver has to be applied before they could grant me TR (820). The Health Waiver applied to the TR (820) is carried over to the subsequent 2nd stage partner visa 801 (assuming there was no undertaking – and there was none given to me). I have obtained my 801 without my C.O contacting me for any further information after I submitted the relevant 2nd stage partner visa.

Jim, this is an old thread so I'm not sure mizun will see this to answer you. It's normal for them to request medicals for an 820. Everyone has to complete them. What is your medical condition, if you don't mind sharing it? If it's not something serious or expensive to treat you *probably* don't need to worry.

If you do have a condition that could get you rejected, though, you need a migration agent with expertise dealing with cases with difficult medicals - and those who usually get suggested on this board and others are George Lombard and Peter Bollard. You'd want to get one of them involved immediately.

Hi Jim

In fact It has been 14 months since I lodged my onshore application. I only received an email from the IMMI in Sept saying that my application will be processed in the coming months. That's it....
