Question Regarding Skilled Assessment from Engineer Australia

Hello,

I am bit confuse about my skilled assessment. I completed my 4 years Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics discipline from India and have total 9 years of Experience in Electronics & Maintenance Field in India Only.

I want to apply for 189 Visa, in this I have to assess my qualification only or have to assess my Work experience too. As I am bit afraid that if they won't assess my experience above 8 years then I don't get 60 Points to qualify.

So better to assess only Qualification and experience will depend upon Australia Immigration Officer as how he assess my experience based upon my Employment Documents , please guide me in this.

Thanks to all in advance.

Engineers Australia will assess both. There is no point in lodging an EoI unless you are sure you have enough points.

Note that Mechatronics Engineering is NOT an occupation on the SOL/CSOL and can't be assessed for migration by Engineers Australia.

Sometimes experience can be substituted for a qualification. I.e. for some trades you only need 4 - 5 years of relevant work experience.

Maybe look at getting in through this route if your qualification is rejection.

I apologise .. Mechatronics Engineer is on the CSOL under Engineering Professional (NEC). However, if you can been assessed as an Electronics Engineer you will have a better chance or qualifying for sponsorship be a State.

Thank you very much Mr. Hooper and Mr. Drazen for your reply..

Even I asked this same question to MARA agent who is in India, he told me we can do assessment as Electronics Engineer or in Engineering Technologists. As my experience is completely in Maintenance and Electronics department. He is very confident about it. Will go for assessment with in this week. if assessment is positive we will directly go for 189 Visa, as my points are exact 60. Hoping for best.

Once again thanks for your reply and will let you know my assessment result.

Stay in touch.

That is correct provided this can be explained to a case manager properly.

If you require any assistance with this I specialise in writing reports which are addressed to case managers and may help boost your chances.

Message me if you are interested or you can look me up

You will have to do a Competence Demonstration Report for your Skills Assessment. Make sure that all three episodes describe work you have done and problems you have solved as an Electronics Engineer. In the the past I have assisted a candidate from Malaysia with a Production Engineering Degree be assessed as a Mechanical Engineer.
