Question Being a Sponser for 820 Visa

Is there a financial aspect when it comes to being my boyfriends sponser? We have been collecting evidence the past 4 months, and we have another 6 months until we apply.
I am feeling confident with the evidence we have collected so far, we have been saving saving saving for this $7000 ish we need to apply, but I was wondering whether I need to have a certain amount in my bank account to be his sponser or if I earn a certain amount?

Just want to be sure!

Thankyou

No, there's no requirement for the sponsor to provide evidence of financial status, income, etc.

Im not really sure, but i think OZ is about the only first world country where income requirement is not an issue re-partner/spousal visas.

The UK is around 18,000 pounds (from non EU countries)..... Canada you must sign a 3 year affadavid of support...........NZ around $32,000.........US K9 around $20,000 based on minimum wage rate.........EU says Stable and Sufficent Funds incl Health Insurance........

So all in all we are very lucky, although our visa fees are very high compared but then so are our wages higher. These are just ball park figures and stand to be corrected...

I applied for the 820 in June 2014 and it does state that as a sponsor you have to show that you are financially able to provide and support your partner if they were out of work or could not work. We also had to provide copies of my partners (sponsor) wage slips from the last 12 months. You might want to look into it further or contact an immigration agent, most of the time you can get the 1st hlf hr free. I didn't use one when I applied but I wish now that I had as there are some things that are so simple and you overlook it or just don't see it and then end up having to provide more detail and prolonging the process ( talking from experience :-( )

Rooy04 it's interesting they asked you to provide wage slips because partner visas do not require evidence of financial support (this has been confirmed by many applicants and migration agents).

Hi Maggie-May24,

I have been sponsored by my ex-wife and now my new wife is applying offshore spouse visa.
My question is ,do we have to wait 5yrs to sponsor new wife, which is ending in 3 month. Can I apply now or after 5yrs completed even though calculation 5yrs sponsorship is from the date of first application lodge till new application decision ?

Much appreciate if you could reply my query as soon as possible Please
