Question questions of applying partner visa

Hello everyone, Thanks for your time to reading this.
I'm currently on a working holiday visa and going to apply the partner visa onshore on mid-march after I got married with my fiance. I visit this website almost everyday for more and more informations of the visa, I still have some questions need you guys for help

1) For applying the partner visa onshore ( 820 / 801 ), I know I need form 47SP, 40SP. For medical check I need form 26 and 160. I'm sure I need to filled up more forms, what forms do I need? Do I need form 80 and 888??? Any more?? I really don't wanna miss any documents they need so want to be sure and ask here.

2) Me and my fiance are planning to lodge the application in person ( Brisbane office ), how can we make an appointment?? Can we make an appointment now?

3) I just booked the medical check on next Friday at Medibank, is anyone know how long does it takes? Also, will they send me back the result or they send straight to the immigration? but I will not apply till mid or end of march. How can I know if I passed the medical check or not???

Hope anyone here can help
Thanks heaps!!! I appreciate for your help!
Cheers

Hi there, hopefully I can be of some help!

Regarding question one and the forms, I sent form 80 as well as two form 888's filled out by Australian citizens.
As for question two, I'm not totally sure about Brisbane but I handed my in in Melbourne and it was just a case of showing up and waiting for your number to be called. It is my understanding that they don't really make appointments any more, most probably because there are so many people applying for visas.

As for question three, I did my medical in Brisbane. I had two appointments a few days apart. At the first appointment, they did most of the tests and I was probably there two/three hours... Most of that time was waiting around for my name to be called, there were lots of people waiting so even though I had an appointment time, I still had to get a number from the machine and wait... The second day was much quicker (it was much quieter), I was probably there for about an hour in total, I waited, got called to go in and spoke to the doctor, this was very quick as all my tests were fine and I'm pretty healthy so there was no issues. After I had spoke with her I waited back in the waiting room until they called my name and gave me the envelope with my results in. You must not open the results but you just need to send me with your application...

Good luck!!

Hi, I lodged my application at the Brisbane office 2 weeks ago. You can't make an appointment, they'll tell you to post it but if you show up at the front counter with your app ready to hand in, they will give you a number, you wait and give your application to a person there. They will type in your details and issue you a Bridging visa and the confirmation letter on the spot. Hope that helps. Good luck

THANKS GERMANINBRISSIE!!!
We think lodge the application in person would be better than post it, so we will go to the Brisbane office and do the same like u. We are so worry for applying the visa, will have the medical check on this friday, and still waiting my Australia police check certificate ( Cause I've been here over 20 months already ), I posted it on Feb10, but still haven't gotten anything yet, hope I will soon.
Did u have Australia police check? If u did, how long did it takes??
And how long did u get your medical check result???
THanks for replying again
Good luck with your application!!!!!

Yes, I frontloaded my application with police checks and medicals. The Aussie check was pretty quick, I think about a week and the medical results came back just a few days after I had the check. Don't worry, you should have both back soon.
Also, make sure you can pay the fee when you go in there in person, I filled out the credit card details but the officer said I need to pay straight away so he just charged my card then and there.

I hope I'll get the police check soon, started a bit worry about that...been almost 2 weeks since I sent out.... :'(
Thanks for let me know how u pay for the visa, is it $2960????
I guess its the best way to hand the application in person, you already got the bridging visa, confirmation letter and type the details on spot.
Good luck again
