457, defacto application - HELP

Hi there all,

If anyone can help or express their experience I would be so grateful, my head is buzzing with reading all the various forums that I now feel lost.

I am currently on a 457, and I am not happy at all in my role been there 3 years now as I was sponsored after my WHV expired, but I am so unhappy I dread going to work each day. My 457 is until 2014

What I am wanting to know is once the application for the de-facto is submitted and should I choose to save my sanity and leave my place of work and advise immi I am no longer working for my sponsor and feeling happy for the first time in a long time what will happen, do I go onto a bridging visa, will it harm our application (whether I quit or they choose to let me go) I am British as is my partner but he is an Australian Citizen.

Has anyone else been in this situation, we have only choose to go down this route due to the volitility of market in which I work, and it could end for them or me anyday, week or month we don't know, but what we do know is I need to have a back-up plan so I do not have to leave my beloved, my home, my car everything I have worked for.

Any help or guidance would be great

Thanks
