If PMV is refused while on Visitor Visa

What happens if a PMV is refused, and the applicant has a 12 month visitor visa for Australia?

Does the Visitor Visa get cancelled or can they still use it to return to Australia for the validity period?

It doesn't cancel the visitor visa and can still be used to enter Australia.

One problem could be that Immigration would question your intentions when returning to Australia and deny entry.

That is the one I would wonder about. Do you know if it happens?

This is theoretical for us, but I am just thinking through all possibilities (even so early in the application).

I know of people whose application for a tourist visa was refused after a partner visa refusal.

I also know of people who have had trouble returning to Australia on a valid tourist visa, because of "genuine visitor" concerns.

So, yes, it happens and something you should take into consideration.

After a partner visa refusal, it is quite likely that there would be some concern about a person's intentions, when trying to enter Australia on a tourist visa.

Thanks, that basically confirms my thinking.

Hope it never comes to it

Sounds like a hit or miss..
One would wonder how they operate, actually..

I've arrived 2 times on Turist visa
3 times on 105 visa
4 times again on Turist visa
2 times on Bridging visa B
2 times on 820 visa

and the only comment att the customs has every times been : Welcome to Australia.

Just sharing my experience. .

I guess you're right

Ohh.. I just remembered. .
I was actually stopped once, when I was asked if i was carrying a shotgun in a case I brought with me..
But to their surprise they only found an electric guitar. ... ha ha ha..

( I forgot to tick wood on the arrival card,
and was given a friendly lesson in how to
fill it out. No worries)
