CO and visa expiry

I just handed in my 820 application on 5th of april and got the letter f approval for bridging visa A on the spot...
My current visa (tourist) is still valid till 20th of may
If I understood it right the bridging visa will become valid on the 20th of i was wondering if they will even start working on my application before the expiry of my current visa?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Have a good day...even sunny if you're in sydney :-)

Bridging Visa A granted 5.April 2012
Work restriction removed 4.May 2012

Bridging Visa B granted 10.July 2012 (travel in August)
