Hi people , hope everyone's slowly but surely getting some joy out of things and progress.

I'm new here but l'm Australian and l'm thinking of sponsoring my gf.
We're just in the thinking about it stages yet but reading about here l'm just wondering.

Does the Australian sponsor have to do medicals and police reports and God knows what else too, or is that only the actual person being sponsored and moving to Australia, as in my gf ?

Cheers

The sponsor is required to do police checks. The applicant needs to do medicals and police checks. Also, you want to refer to her as your partner. Gf tends to mean you're just dating...not in a defacto relationship.

Hello everyone. I have been a silent reader of this forum since 2015 and finally I got my 100 approved after almost 49 months.

My timeline is
Applied for 309 in June 2015
Approved 309 in September 2017
I got email in March 2019 to provide more information and start the 100 application. I applied for 100 in April and I got the golden email 2 days ago.
I want to thanks everyone for giving their ideas on their forum and sharing their experience.

Congratulations. What is your nationality ?

That was a long wait between 100 eligibility date (2017) and starting the 100 section submission.
But interesting that they actioned it based on eligibility date, not submission date.

My 100 has finally been granted

Eligibility date: 20/11/2015
Applied: 11/2015 *I honestly can’t remember the exact date now because it’s been so long since I initially applied, but knowing myself, it would have been exactly on 20/11/2015
Denial date: 03/07/2017
Applied for review by AAT: 21/07/2017
AAT Remittance of decision date: 24/05/2019
Grant date: 09/07/2019

My visa was initially refused due to the breakdown of my marriage and the Department now seeing my evidence of domestic violence as extensive enough. I had been waiting to hear from the Department regarding next steps since the AAT’s decision but as it had been over a month I decided to frontload my cv check yesterday and received the notification of my visa having been granted today.

  • jahiduls (Bangladesh) took 2.2 months for the 801, with a total of 26.2 months from initial 309 application.
I am curious what the differences between them were.
Did either front load Police checks etc.,
Did either have to supply any further information etc.,
Were the sponsors, Australian, Australian Citizen or just PR.
I didn't front load Police check. Case officer just asked for Police check after 1 month and 24 days of lodging 100 application. It took 3 days to get granted after uploading police check. Finally, my sponsor is a Bangladeshi born Australian citizen and our age difference is 3 years.

From my own understanding, I think that the grant time depends on the genuinity and acceptance of relationship and qualification of application and presentation of quality information (documents).
