Eligibility date: 20/11/2015
Applied: 11/2015 *I honestly canít remember the exact date now because itís been so long since I initially applied, but knowing myself, it would have been exactly on 20/11/2015
Denial date: 03/07/2017
Applied for review by AAT: 21/07/2017
AAT Remittance of decision date: 24/05/2019
Grant date: 09/07/2019

My visa was initially refused due to the breakdown of my marriage and the Department now seeing my evidence of domestic violence as extensive enough. I had been waiting to hear from the Department regarding next steps since the AATís decision but as it had been over a month I decided to frontload my cv check yesterday and received the notification of my visa having been granted today.

Thanks for the post and big wow, fantastic that's great.
But now l have to ask , yours was family violence , geez, so was my gf's. This might need a whole new thread , l don't know.
But they're now looking like denying her original visa because she has no evidence. She was new in the country he got violent she didn't know she'd need damn evidence .
She left him.

What sort of evidence did you manage to find.?

lf she could prove it, she'd get her visa, but she really can't. They've sent her to Independent experts , and shrinks, and counselors , but this all began about 6mths after she'd left him. She doesn't speak great English, not bad but not great and it all got confusing, they've really put her through the grill, for 2yrs now.
The so called expert didn't like her and reported back the marriage was fake.
The shrink and others won't even give an opinion , and the lawyers been pretty useless too.

Immigration asked my gf to write and explain, she wrote a 20page letter explaining as best she could, then they said it's not enough they want more evidence.
Well it all happened over 2yrs ago now, they're divorced, it's over.
So she doesn't know wth to do, how can she give evidence ?

Anyway, you might have some tips, excuse the rant, or if you'd prefer to pm me instead please do ok.

Thanks a lot , and big congrats once again.

Hi! Sorry, just saw this. I messaged you but does your gf have a Support Worker? They can assist her and also access a lot of resources from Social Workers to Legal Aid. Will send you some links as well.

Hey guys!

I wasn't even looking and my grant came through email today! it came as a complete surprise

309 Visa Application date: 21 March 2017
309 Visa GRANT date: 19 May 2017 (2months)

100 Visa Eligible Date: 21 March 2019
100 Visa Application Date: 12 June 2019 (complete application with AFP)
100 Visa GRANT date: 6 Aug 2019

I understand that i could apply from 21 march but life got in the way and we could only get our application done in June. I wasn't expecting anything until mid next year

No Contact whatsoever from immi.
Front loaded all my documents including the AFP

I only uploaded 6-7 full PDF files.
Each PDF contains the main segment evidence like (Nature of household, social, financial etc)- Each PDF was about 20pages long with evidences

I'll still be around for sure to help others
But i'm so grateful to all you guys out there who's helped me since joining this forum yeaaaars ago!
