Thanks JandE. I’m from the UK. I called the Australian Home Office and they had no clue what I should do and couldn't give me advice. My first entry date is 10 Sept 2020. Then I must not arrive after 10 Sept 2024. So, from 10 Sept 2018 I had 5 years to come and go before I settle. It doesn’t make sense to me that I should try and travel to Australia just to activate and return home again (even if I can) after 2 weeks in quarantine. My Aussie husband would‘ve come with me but there’s no point in him going just to spend 2 weeks in quarantine. I'm tearing my hair out trying to find out.

You can start to lodge the 2nd stage from one month before eligibility. It normally does not get reviewed before eligibility, but it allows time to get things in, ready for that date.

It doesn't guarantee getting the grant early though.

I was requested a police check today so I assume I will get my 100 as soon as I upload it. The same thing happened to me with my 309 before, request for police check and then granted a few days after I provided it.
