Just asking out of curiosity..

How come you answered this question when you are 1 month short of 24 months from Stage 1 application date?

Has it been a total of 24 months since the date the applicant lodged their temporary partner visa application?

309/820 TR visa holders are usually eligible to lodge in their 100/801 PR visa applications at most 1 month prior to their 2-year waiting period finishes. I doubt your PR visa application will have to be delayed simply because you almost didn't wait on the TR visa. It might just be that the process slowed down as a result of the pandemic. Just make sure you continue uploading your relationship evidence as you wait along.

I'm actually quite curious to find out what your relationship status was at the time of your 309/820 application. It's absolutely a miracle to be granted the visa in as few as 5 days! Do you mind sharing that here? (eg. length of relationship, kids involved, etc) Thanks!!

I am quite new to this forum. My partner submitted her Stage 2 on 10/Sep/2020 and haven't heard anything back. Application sits at 'Received'. Did anyone apply after Sep 2020 got any update? Or is it just us??

We haven't applied AFP yet - just wanted to wait for the first CO contact, but we are thinking to get AFP and alteast to update the application so it may get DHA's attention..

We got really impressive Stage 1 processing from New Delhi, India where 309 was granted within 5 days. I am not sure if that's playing any factor in Stage 2 application delay.

09/Sep/2018 - Applied 309
14/Sep/2018 - Grant 309
10/Sep/2020 - Applied 100
??

this one may put you in ease a little bit

I submitted my wife`s stage 2 - 100 - application last 31/01/2020 , the eligible date was 27/12/2019 and until now we have not heard anything from the DHA ( it is 11 months so far ) ,

we summitted more then enough documents, and we kept submitting through out this year... but..

and what make it weird is that we used a migration agent too ..

Thanks.

We just applied for 309 after a week we got married. We are just a normal arranged marriage couple and nothing fancy.. I believe the secret here is her Visitor visa

After we got married, I wanted to bring my wife along with me to Australia (we had 2 weeks' time). So, we applied for 309 as soon we got the marriage certificate(1 week after marriage). As soon we submitted 309, I also applied for a visitor visa (with priority processing). I mentioned her 309 application reference and our flight details in the visitor visa (600). Since it was 'priority processing', her visitor visa was granted within an hour. And, they started processing 309 straight away.

Documents organizing was another factor too. As we pre-planned for this, she already had her Health assessment, PCC everything ready before a month..

We applied for 309 and 600 on Monday morning..
600 approved same day
309 approved Friday evening
We had our flights to Aus on Saturday morning.

Technically, she made her first entry with 309 and there was no use of 600. However, I believe applying 600 under priority processing made things super-fast..

You are such a lucky couple, and the case officer was very considerate too.
Thanks for sharing your experiences and good luck to your PR application!
