Granted

Hi everyone

I am new here, but wanted to let you guys know my timeline,
First a little bit about my case, my nationality is french so low risk, i am married to an Australian citizen, and i spent around $9000 for everything (i know pretty low but that was 2014);

So, I applied for the visa subclass 309 the 21st of October 2014, after sending tonnes of documents, i got it granted on the 25th of May 2015 so not even a year, i then applied for the subclass 100 the 21st of October 2016 (after the 2 year gap in between), then 1 year and a few days later i got my permanent residence on the 31st of October 2017, so it took me a bit more than 3 years to get it.

Hope that can give a little bit of an idea to you if were wondering.

Good luck to everyone.

Thank you

Now you can start counting to your citizenship. I think it hasn't changed. So, 3 years in Australia and 1 year on PR (4 total).

Enjoy.

I have lodged my application in early July this year from Hong Kong.

Got an email from the case officer said:

This email is to inform you that assessment on your relationship has been
completed. You are now required to meet the health and character
requirements within 28 calendar days upon receiving this email. Please note
that at the expiry of the prescribed time frame, and where no further
request for extension is made, a decision may be made without further
communication and without requesting further supporting material.

Does it mean my visa will be granted once I completed the police and health test? She did not ask me for further information.

I would like to know if the 5 years visa would be coumted on the date of my visa grant or first entry?

Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge, visa validity is from the visa grant date and first entry latest by initial entry date.

Some good news! Got my PR today, after 5 months and 1 week (29 May'17), of lodgement onshore. My eligibility date was 9th March 2016 but I was late to apply for more than 1 year due to work.

I was not asked for any further evidence or medical so surprisingly quick turnaround than the standard processing time (17 to 28 months) for 100 visa.

Congrats! The processing time is based on eligibility date, so when a person lodges everything 1 year late then the processing time isn't as long as a person who lodges everything on time.
