So which timeframe is applicable for the application: 8-12 months or 20-23 months?
20-23 months; or whatever time frame is listed at the moment.

Like Mish said, this DOES NOT mean you are going to get your application processed 20-23 months from applying. You can still get it processed in 12 months, 15 months, or any amount of time in that estimate. The 20-23 months is just when most applications are processed; so it is telling you that it is unlikely that your application will be processed in more than 20 months and very unlikely that it will be processed in over 23 months.

Thanks H - looks like I have 8 months before panicking.

Would you know what happens when a case officer is assigned for 100? is it an email saying, hey - i am your case officer or just a standard email requesting additional documents or granting visa?

For the 309 visa, I had got a call from the CO, saying I am processing your wife's application and is she ok to travel to AU before this date.

Hi Canopus,
There was no signatory person, it was from Partner (Permanent) Processing Centre Brisbane
Department of Immigration and Border Protection.

I have an update for the application - Received an email this morning 's56 Request for More Information' requesting AFP clearance.

The email is from Brisbane Partner Permanent Processing Centre and has a name & position number at the bottom. Is it safe to assume that a CO has been allocated?

With the 100 the most anyone hears from their CO is a request for additional evidence if needed (like you mentioned). If you front loaded everything perfectly, you may not hear anything from them until your grant arrives!

The only infomation/evidence required is the AFP clearance and I will be able to provide is this week.

Let's see how long it takes to process the application once this document is provided.
