Hi all,

I am very disheartened to see that the waiting time has increased once again. As of July 18 the processing times are now 23 to 32 months! Our application has been in for 16 months and we felt like the end was near and now it is still far away.
When we first lodged it was 8 to 12 months.

Are you supposed not to attach AFP at the time of lodging 100? We attaached our ones before being asked for it! :S

I am sorry but I don't know for sure. From what I can gather the waiting times continue to increase. Given that when we applied the maximum waiting time was 12 months and we are now 16 months in we are obviously affected by the increase in waiting times so you would be too if that is the case.

I plan to call the information line in 2 months time if we have not heard anything. We lodged through an immigration agent and to date have not been asked for further information so I am hoping that is a good sign.

They don't "lock in" the average wait time from the time you applied, so just because it was, say, 10 months at time of application, that doesn't mean that your application will be processed in that time.

The reason y I’m asking that because I was told by a migration agent that it dosnt affect the ppl who applied under the old law and that each case is different

Changing of processing times isn't a change in law... they update them every month. Not sure what you mean?
