Hello everyone, we have applied for my partner's 309/100 permanenent visa a few moth ago. Her Medicare card has now expired. To extend it she needs to provide evidence that we applied for a permanent visa. Our immi account status is Received, but we haven't received any e-mail from the government. Has anyone received an e-mail confirmation that permanent 309/100 visa application has been received? Maybe someone can advise what to use as a proof of application for Medicare?

Thank you

Acknowledgement of Application Received. You would have gotten this email as soon as the payment processed when you made the application. They also put it in immi account under messages/notifications (can't remember what it's called).

Hello, thank you for your reply.

We have received an e-mail confirmation when we applied for a temporary 309 visa.

A few month ago we have applied for 100 permanent visa, but haven't received an e-mail confirmation.

We are not sure what to provide as a proof for Medicare that out application for permanent residency has been submitted.

She applied for permanent residency when she made the combined 309/100 application. Stage 2 eligibility is not an application. It's simply submitting further documentation to prove the relationship has continued. You'll notice the Stage 2 online form is not titled "application" like Stage 1 is. Therefore, there is no application received email at Stage 2.

So the Acknowledgement of Application Received from when the combined 309/100 app was made is proof an application has been made for permanent residency.

So this is why every 309/100 and 820/801 applicant is eligible for Medicare, because they made an application for permanent residency. Also why you don't need to have the 309 or 820 to get it.

See the website: You apply for both the permanent and temporary visas at the same time and pay only one fee.

If she already has Medicare from applying for a partner visa, they'll just keep sending a new card when it gets a few weeks from expiry. After the initial paperwork to get it, I've never had to go in again. They send me a new interim card each year. Once I got PR, the regular green card was automatic too.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

As we understood the rules might have changed and my partner needs to come in to the Medicare office and reenrol in Medicare. She might also need to provide a proof that she has applied for permanent visa to be able to receive a new Medicare card.

Maybe someone has been in a similar situation and can advise which evidence of permanent visa application we can provide?

They must have changed pretty quickly then because I only submitted Stage 2 last month...

I've already told you what evidence it is. Read the Acknowledgement for yourself. It states very clearly the 100 was applied for.

My husband and I are also renewing my Medicare card next week. If you had front loaded your evidence for permanent stage processing online, you could download the application summary and print it as proof of submission.

Go to "My Applications Summary." Click "View Details" to reach to "Application Home." Under "Application History," click "View Application" download and print it as proof of application.

Bring her original passport, your marriage certificate, expired Medicare card, a copy of her current VEVO, Medicare Enrolment Form and a print out of the Partner Visa subclass 100 assessment.
