Hi. My wife received her 309/100 yesterday. Very relieved. My question is kinda stupid. What does she do now? Is there something that goes in her passport? Does she show the visa pdf at the airport? Cheers, L

Congratulations!! To answer your question, it's linked to her passport so nothing to put in there. I always travel with a printout of my visa grant, though I've never needed it.

This. I have needed a printout of a visa grant once before when checking in to the airline as there was an issue on their end.

Same! We did need it when checking in for our flight to NZ departing Australia to show that my husband had PR.

Apart from that have only needed it once and that was because the check-in person in Abu Dhabi was new (that was what her manager said lol).

My husband and I visited the Medicare office. However, my Medicare has been renewed for six months only. According to the case officer, it won't be long now...hopefully. At any rate, we would need to revisit the Medicare office in six months' time should we not receive the grant yet.

I have just completed the Global feedback complaint and hopefully I have a good outcome.

I'm kinda at my wits end with this.

Congratulations! It is such a long time to wait though. We were eligible to lodge 22/12/16 but did not submit until 7/3/17. Going off what has been posted on this forum I understood the waiting time was from the date of eligibility but when I phoned immi I was told that it is from the date of lodgement. We have not even had a case officer assigned to us yet. How long did it take for you to have a case officer assigned?

Thanks for any info

That is incorrect. It is in fact from date of eligibility, not submission. Keep in mind the call center is just that; you're not talking to actual COs that know the regulations. They're notorious for giving out incorrect information and guess whose fault it is for following said advice? Yours. They're not liable for what you do with any info they give you, even if it's wrong. It's even stated on the immigration website that wait times posted are from date of eligibility.

Think about it logically, if they were based on submission, that would imply that only by submitting documents for Stage 2 would you go into the queue. Therefore, not submitting documents means you never go in queue. Which also means that people in fake relationships, or in cases where the relationship has ended and PR won't be granted due to the breakdown, people would just never submit documents for Stage 2 and get to stay in Australia indefinitely.

We know that's definitely not the case as they will get to you whether you've submitted documents or not. So clearly wait times are based on eligibility and not submission.

Thanks Skyebluebrewer what you say makes perfect sense and hopefully that means we are not too far off getting the PR, although not having a CO yet is a little concerning.
