Hello I have just been informed , that my fiancé`s visa has been approved,by the australian embassy in Manila, can anyone inform , what is the next stage of the process, we have to go through?
Also to meet the visa requirements , do I have to purchase my fiancé a return ticket ?

That is my "opinion" too. Now that you have the PMV, you have 9 months to get married and apply for the temporary partner visa. You have to enter Australia one time on the visa and then you are free to come and go from Australia for the duration of the visa. You do not have to get married in Australia on this visa, although many people do as they have planned it with the NOIM and paid the fee!
Just be careful you do not leave the partner application too late as the PMV will expire from the date of the grant.
There is no requirement that you have the return ticket as the one way journey is now assured!
Good luck and happy wedding day!

Hi aussieseaman,

Can you post your application timeline for your fiance visa? How long did it take before it was approved

I think the next step would be coming to australia and getting married within 9 months. I dont think a return ticket is required for her to enter Australia.

Regards

hi i am newbie here, I am filipina and my fiance is australian,im turning 25 this year and hes turning 49,we start our requirements to apply PMV and we use agent to make it all proper, he is pending divorce, but probably next month or first week of november he will finally get a divorce paper/divorce grant. He went here for 1 week vacation and we engaged, we really love each other, but may i ask if our application will be get a hard approval? is our age gap will be problem?, i hve many evidences, such as photos together, with my family, and chat logs. can anyone give me advice for it?

Age difference in Phil is very common for the majority of applicants....having met just for 1 week will be the red flag for embassy.....so gather a lot of on-line evidence as I presume you chat on skype or whatever a lot....

Take care n best of luck...Brygie

What embassy did you lodge at? Your lawyer would have sent it from Australia (if they are based in Australia) but it was not lodged in Australia (pmv can not be lodged in Australia).

As mentioned in previous thread it depends on what embassy you applied at and they should have given you processing times when lodged. 12 weeks is highly doubtful. We have seen processing times increase alot over the past few months there are even applicants from US (a low risk country) where people are still waiting at 7-8 months and the UK (another low risk country) is quoted at 8-9 months. So if your embassy is 5 months then that is great :).

Just sit back and relax ... nothing you can do to hurry it up. But as you mentioned on the other thread about your fiancee withdrawing his sponsorship, if this does happen then the application will not be processed.

fiance visa...

hi im josephine new in this forum...im just asking whos here that the fiance visa is approve for the aussieman did u pass any req that u have your house before u file your fiance visa...for my case my fiance aussieman is living with there parents do you think is there any problem on that

Josephine, that's an old post you r questioning......if your partner has ''an address'' even if its his parents where you would stay, then its fine.....doesn't mean that when you arrive here, you must live there....you can find a place of your own,,,,but make sure on a PMV you notify immigration...

Its ok Josie, made the same mistake a few times lol....the red strip up top tells u when post was made.......PMV >>>prospective marriage visa/fiancé visa.......n yes parent's address is fine....

I Lived in Cebu for 5 years n just been back in Melbourne 2 months now...my wife loves it here but im not sure when winter comes, as its been very hot here.

She misses her family a lot but met 2 girls at CFO n now we meet up whenever n do things as a group.....it makes her less homesick I feel.

Well hope everything goes well in your application.....
