Sponsor`s employment visa 820

Hi everyone!

I have got a few questions related to my boyfriend`s (the sponsor) employment. We are applying for visa 820 and I am not sure if we have to prove his employment, on the visa checklist it doesn`t say that. It only says on the form 40sp that he has to provide documents relating to his employment. He has had decent jobs before that, but in May 2015 he quit his job and went on centrelink, now he got a new job just only 2weeks ago. We are applying for the visa in October.Do we have to tell the immi that he was on centrelink and now he`s just got a new job. Or we don`t have to show his employment at all? I have got a secure wellpaying job and we dont have any problems paying our bills etc. I am just a bit worried about his situation affecting our visa.

Thank you!

Yes you do have to tell them. There is a very good chance they would find out anyway.

Thanks, but does it say anywhere else besides only in form 40sp that it is necessary to give proof of his emplyoment. Have not found on immigration website that it is essential. Also have not found what documents we have to supply in regards the employment.
My main concern is if it affects our visa decision that he has been on centrelink before and therefore they think he isn`t an eligible sponsor...

We have not supplied any proof of employment/income as we didn't see that requirement. Also, from what I have read on this forum in the last year since being a member, it is no longer a requirement to show proof of income.

Even, if you were required to detail his employment, that wouldn't be an issue since I've seen people on Centrelink and students being able to sponsor their partner.

Don't worry about it.
