Contact from case officer

Hello ,its been just over two months know since my fiance,s PMV application was lodged in Chile ,we have only had one contact from the assigned case officer and that was for a free to marry document which was supplied . We have had no more contact from the officer . Is this normal ? I would emagine they have had enough time to see that all the relevant documents were with the application to where they would have obviously contacted her if something was missing or needed . Can any tell me when you would expect our next contact may be . It is hard to emagine what these people do with the 5-6 month waiting time for the approval ,We would love to get some response from them just to give us some encouragement in this situation , THE WAITING GAME !!!! Cheers Darryl

Very normal unfortunately! You could try to email the case officer to ask if they need anything else. We got a notification from ours saying that it's in the queue for final approval. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the five month mark. We have two months to go!

Thanks Ozgirl , Its very hard being apart from your partner for many months its like the embassy is testing the relationship or something ,and yet our government are letting hundreds of boat people in hear and they dont have papers . Crazy , you try to do the right thing and get penalized by many months of waiting for your own government to say YES you can marry this person ! If it did not cost so much Id go back over to my Fiance in Colombia to see her but I feel the money is best kept for our future hear ,considering the visa should be approved in the next couple of months hopefully . bye for now . Cheers Darryl

Yep I hear ya.
I took half a year off work so I could be with my husband while he is getting his visa approved. We are residing in France. Meanwhile, it took me only two weeks to get my visa for France. Oz immigration for partners is a bit backwards.
Hang in there, just a few more months, and then just think... You have the rest of your lives together to enjoy oz.

Hi Rufa,

We received an email in April, two months after applying:

"Please be advised there are currently no outstanding requirements associated with your visa application. Should any further information be required you will be contacted promptly via email. Your application has been placed in the queue awaiting final review and decision. "

You should probably check too?

Ohh just got my hubbie to check his email again. And i was there, in response to our email.
"Please be advised that your application has been placed in a queue awaiting final review and decision. At this time the Australian Embassy in Madrid are finalising those applications lodged in June/July 2011. "

I thought you had gotten one like a week ago , as we both lodged our application more or less ate the same time.
One more painful month to go to reach the 5 month mark.

That's it! The same automated message :-)
We are just under two months to go! But we booked our flights to come home already - and I should have taken note of the IMO site, but for some reason forgot about it - have you booked flights yet?

Hello Oz girl , I support my fiance and her son , when we applied for her PMV we supplied all the Western Union reciepts I had too show my support . Two things do you think it would be a good Idea to send the Western Union reciepts I now have for the last 2 1/2 months just to show my on going support to my fiance . Also we would like to get married in September 2012 , would it be out of order to ask if the case officer could possibly give us any encouraging news do to the fact I want start orgainizing our wedding here in Australia . We would be absolutely devestated if our visa was not approved , our immigration lawyer said our application was strong ,considering we have know each other for over 2 years ,I ve been to Colombia twice to spend time with my fiance ,and we talk face to face every day on Windows Live ,we are very devoted to our relationship and future together ,please give me your thoughts on the couple of Questions Ive mentioned , many thanks Darryl
