Parent Visas/Contributory Parent Visa (offshore)

Hi everyone,

Can anyone advise me following:

If my parents are to apply for contributory parent visa, can either of them come to Australia after temporary visa has been granted to them? If yes, can they work here full time during temporary visa stage?

Considering application will be for my father, mother & brother, can they all apply separately or have to apply together and have to arrive in Australia together?

Lastly, if we go for the contributory parent visa, what documents will be required from my parents and also, what is the go with assurance of support bond?

Really appreciate if some could give me an insight into this.

Thanks in advance.

Yes they can come on temporary visa. If you go to Department of Immigration & Citizenship look up subclass 600 parents are likely to be granted multiple visa for up to 3 years. In terms of working it will be upon the visa officer's imposition of a condition of NO WORK/NO STUDY condition.

Each will have to apply seperately but can be lodged altogether for the temporary visa. With the parent one you apply for mother and father. How old is your brother? it depends on your the age and how dependent he is on your parents whether or not he can be included on the same application. With the temporary visa your brother will need to show alot of incentive to return to his home country and NOT overstay in Australia unless of course he has a medical condition.

Best to go on Department of Immigration & Citizenship for your options and further information on both visas. There is a lot of information you have to provide. With assurance of support for parent visa AOS are usually sought where the parent has little or no skills to be able to seek employment and may be identified as a user of government benefit. There is also info on AOS on the Immigration website.

All the best.
