hi, VIA is a third party processing centre commissioned by an embassy (e.g. Australian embassy) to receive visa applications. In turn, they would be the one to forward the application to the embassy.

Tourist Visa

Hi we are applying for a tourist visa for my girlfriend to come to Australia from Phils to visit me . We have been in a relationship for nearly 2 years now . I went over to Phils last year to visit her . We will apply for a PMV later this year . My question is should we state on the tourist application that we are boyfriend / girlfriend ? . I've heard that it creates unwanted questions etc when stated bf/gf . I am sponsoring her trip .

I think it would be worthwhile seeing you are sponsoring her trip.Make sure you include a stat dec stating that you are covering her costs and providing accommodation otherwise they will want her to show that she has enough funds to cover the trip. The most important thing is to ensure that you.provide compelling reasons for her to return to the Philippines, property, family ties and most of all a job to return to. ( Get her employer to provide a letter saying they are expecting her to resume work after the holiday)
Unfortunately single females from the Philippines sre considered a high risk of overstaying so thry make things difficult.
On the other hand people on this forum have had great success in getting tourist visas for their girlfriends once they have submitted the PMV application.
Good luck.

I said that my gf was my gf when I applied for her toruist visa for Christmas before last.

I said she was coming to visit in her semester break in the support stat dec - she said on the application she was visiting her boyfriend for christmas.

Biggest thing is demonstrate a reason to return.

All my gf included was her university id and class schedule.

hello Murloc, I suggest she get all necessary documents such as NBI clearance before she heads to VIA. the only 2 documents she may skip on getting are her CENOMAR[certificate of no marriage] and Birth certificates from NSO. the immigration will require to acquire these two online and directly send them to the embassy. but the rest should be completed. everytime your case officer would ask for an additional document, it adds up to your waiting time. and we do not want that.

cheers mate, goodluck on your application

Yes you have to write in your stat dec that you are inviting your girlfriend for a holiday and you will be providing her accomodation. Bank statements and Certificate of employment are an important documents you should include and in 2 weeks time you will get your visa apprvd. Goodluck
